Your first Ecstatic Dance
You do not need to learn a sequence of steps. You can explore movement on your own and choose whether to meet others through dance. Listen to the group agreements before starting: an invitation to dance together is not consent to touch, and you can decline or change your mind.
Check both the doors-open time and the start time: arriving for the introduction lets you get to know the space and the host. Bring clothes you can move freely in and water; check the venue’s footwear guidance and where you can take a break.
Choosing a dance gathering
Read who selects the music, how long the dance lasts and whether the programme includes a guided introduction or a closing session. Check the agreements on conversation, phones and photography rather than assuming every venue has the same rules. Ask the organiser about any missing details before booking.
